Mountain Clouds

Today the weather called for pm showers. Late afternoon, I decided to go out with my son to let him ride his bike before the rain came. While outside, I looked up and saw these amazing, gorgeous clouds. They reminded me of mountains far off in a distance. I quickly went inside to grab my camera. Once outside, I was able to get two shoots of the clouds before the rain started to pour. I wish, I had gone out earlier! When I came inside I decided to turn the weather on the TV and check out what was coming our way. Have you ever seen the pictures people send in to the local TV channels of the hail, lightning, etc? Well, they were showing some of the clouds. I decided I would send in my pictures, something I always say I should do, but never do. Anyway, while uploading the pictures, I browsed the ones already submitted. WOW! There are some amazing pictures out there. If you get the chance, go to one of the local TV channels website and take a look. It is amazing to think that we had those clouds over us!

Exotic birds of Honduras

Last week we went to the Western Caribbean on a 7-day cruise. Wednesday we were in Roatan, Honduras. This was my favorite port of the trip. Maybe because, I had already been to the others before and this port was "new" to me, or perhaps it was because of the rolling hills, green trees and jungles everywhere. We hired a driver who took us all over the island. He took us to what was suppose to be an Exotic Butterfly Garden. I was very disappointed. The butterflies were not "Exotic" or beautiful by any means. We did however, get to see some amazing birds. While in the enclosed butterfly area, out of no where a Toucan zoomed right by. We were totally caught off guard and did not expect it at all. Wow, the bird was beautiful. They didn't like us getting too close, so it was a little hard catching a decent picture of them.

After watching the Toucans fly around, we left the butterfly area and proceeded to the bird area. We saw some more beautiful birds, Parrots and Macaws to name a few. The colors of the birds were simply amazing. (God is an awesome Creator!) One of the birds loved picking at Brad's hat and backpack as he was walking around the area.

More pictures from our vacation to come. Check back soon!

Alex being very still while the bird sits on his arm. At least the bird did not "pee" on him like the monkeys did in Costa Maya---stay tuned, that story to come later.

This bird just loved Brad's hat!

Now he wants the backpack! He wasn't "picking" on anyone else, just Brad!
